I started my journey with Hawthorn and Honey as a way to return to my interests. I started developing in my younger days before life took me in another direction. The passion to learn and be in nature was there, but I lacked confidence in my ability to truly understand how to process herbs, and was definitely unfamiliar with the plants here in the PNW. The way Sara instructs is PERFECT for retaining information, staying engaged, and feeling like it's safe to ask any question. She is also brave enough to say when she doesn't know something, since it provides an opportunity for us all to investigate and learn something new together. All that aside, the best part of her apprenticeships is being out together and connecting...no, RE-connecting with nature. Saturdays in class have quickly become a respite from the trials of sitting in an office all week. If you're on the fence, hop off, sign up for the apprenticeship, and come outside!!!
